1970's Vintage Fashion Doll, 11.25", Brown Hair, Blue Eyes ~ Gorgeous This doll, from my personal collection, was likely manufactured in the early 1970s. My grandmother bought her for me at a bazaar (circa 1972-74?) in Southern California, and I believe the vendor made the dress she is wearing. The top rim of the bodice is glued to the doll, so I couldn't remove it for pictures, nor could I remove the hot pink swimsuit she is wearing underneath. Perhaps this is a Dawn doll? I could find no branding on her, other than the words "Made in Hong Kong" between her shoulder blades. Her billowing, hand-made, salmon-pink dress complements her beautiful caramel-brown complexion. She has big blue eyes, straight brown hair pulled to one side in a pony tail (some wispy strands are loose), and pink lipstick. She appears to be made of vinyl. Her torso is rigid, her legs are lightweight and hollow, and her arms slightly more solid but pliable. Her arms and legs move at their sockets, but she is not jointed elsewhere on her extremities. Her torso connects to her hips above the navel, so she appears to have been constructed from 7 pieces: head, upper torso, lower torso, legs, and arms. Dawn dolls from that era seem to have similar construction; hence my guess as to her manufacturer. Do you recognize this beauty?
